The Birmingham Museum of Art, expanded and completely renovated in 1993, is the largest municipal museum in the Southeast. The outstanding permanent collection contains over 24,000 works of art dating from ancient to modern times. In addition to a variety of indoor reception areas, the Charles W. Ireland Sculpture Garden and Red Mountain Garden Club Memorial Garden provide a beautiful outdoor atmosphere that is considered a work of art themselves.
