The Schomburg Center Complex for Research in Black Culture located in Harlem, New York is a research unit of The New York Public Library system. It is recognized as one of the leading institutions focusing exclusively on African-American, African Diaspora, and African experiences, a 75,000 square foot, three-building facility is located at Harlem's historic crossroads - 135th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard (formerly Lenox Avenue). In addition to state-of-the-art study and storage facilities for the five collection divisions! The facility houses the following rooms (Langston Hughes Lobby, Langston Hughes Auditorium, American Negro Theater, and the Courtyard Seasonally and spaces are available for events of various sizes.
