Greystone Hall is a stately mansion at the center of an English style country estate. Like the Vanderbilt’s Biltmore mansion in North Carolina, the DuPont mansions in and around Wilmington, Delaware and the mansions at Newport, Rhode Island, Greystone Hall stands today as a living monument of the era of great American mansion building from the Gilded Age to the 1920’s. Greystone Hall is an ideal site for elegant weddings, receptions, banquets, rehearsal dinners and special events as well as executive conferences, formal business entertaining and small private dinners.
Most receptions at Greystone Hall start with cocktails and hors d’oeurves served in the mansion or- weather permitting- in the North Garden with its marble fountain surrounded by semicircular benches. Patio tables and umbrellas provide a place to sit and enjoy the garden. The main bar is in the Iron and Glass Palm Room. Inside - guests who are interested in architecture, woodwork, antiques and oriental carpets may explore the mansion’s first floor formal rooms which are all joined together by a series of pocket doorways. The gardens outside and the furnished rooms inside provide ample settings and backgrounds for wedding photographs.
